Resident Council Board |
An active VBHA Resident Council Board is comprised of five members, elected from the adult resident population. They plan monthly and seasonal activities for the residents. All residents are encourages to attend the planning meetings and participate in activities. |
Literacy and Pre-GED |
Classes are taught by volunteers from the Crawford County Volunteers for Literacy. All expenses associated with the courses are paid by VBHA. |
Community News |
Monthly newspaper published by VBHA that features residents, issues that effect low-income housing, and stories written by the residents |
NYPUM |
National Youth Program Using Minibikes, a program that uses motorcycles to reward youth for meeting goals set by the participant and the parent(s). Taught by Van Buren Police Department |
Food Giveaway |
Held on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. until noon and Fridays from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.. Food Items are distributed to residents and are donated from local grocers |

A number of clubs and activities are available each month for residents and non-residents. Please see Calendar for complete listing. |
Computer Lab |
Eight computers, all connected to the internet, are available for resident user. Computer classes are held weekly at no cost. |
BUST Poverty Trust Fund |
Incentive program that rewards resident youth for achieving A & B Honor Roll each semester. You must also complete 4 hours of community service to qualify. |
First Tee |
Golf lessons given to resident youth over 8 week period at no cost. |
